Ashul Govil, MD is a board-certified and fellowship-trained cardiologist. He received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Virginia and completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University with a subsequent fellowship in cardiovascular disease at California Pacific Medical Center. He has additional training and certifications in nuclear cardiology and cardiac computed tomography (CT).
Dr. Govil has been in both high acuity hospital and community based clinical practice as an invasive cardiologist. In his practice, he emphasizes an evidence based, holistic approach to cardiovascular care that includes the use of proper diet, lifestyle, and medication to reduce cardiac risk. His areas of treatment include the acute and preventive treatment of heart failure, ischemic and coronary artery disease, dysrhythmias, pacemaker device implantations, valve disease, hypertension, and dyslipidemia. In addition to his clinical work, he has also served as an expert advisor for health technology and medical device companies for over a decade and was previously at the FDA where he evaluated medical device safety, efficacy and design.
Dr. Govil enjoys time together hiking numerous trails, cheering for the local sports teams, and seeking out good food, trying both new restaurants and new recipes to cook at home.
Jane is a Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Story Health who partners closely with Dr. Ashul Govil. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing and Masters of Science/ Family Nurse Practitioner degrees with honors at Regis University in Denver, CO. Jane is board certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed to practice in multiple states.
Prior to joining Story Health, Jane provided high-acuity hospital based care as a NP. She found her love of the cardiology specialty during a decade-long career as a Flight Nurse. The autonomy of a critical care flight nursing role led her to pursue her advanced degree in order to practice as a Cardiology NP in 2016. Since then, she has worked with acute and preventative care in hypertension, heart failure, coronary artery disease, hyperlipidemia, and dysrhythmias including atrial fibrillation. With a mission to provide excellence in cardiology care, Jane accepted the role as Heart Failure Clinical Coordinator where she led a hospital based team of health care providers to achieve rigorous quality measures and ultimately accreditation with the American Academy of Cardiology in Heart Failure. Jane believes that excellent care should be the norm. Bringing positive change to a large hospital based system inspired Jane to join Story Health where she can continue to build and provide collaborative and accessible quality care.
Jane and her husband enjoy camping, 4x4 trails, kayaking and hiking with their 2 dogs as well as traveling with their two adult and two teen children.
